SF3 2023 is happening Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th November, 2023 at the Actors Centre Australia in Leichhardt, Sydney.
SF3 Online is happening from November 18th – December 3rd. No matter where you are, you can be a part of SF3.
Come along to one screening or them all plus a live masterclass with Jason van Genderen, two online masterclasses – editing with Luma Touch + music licensing with Melodie, a panel discussion with our feature filmmaker from LA – Levi Austin Morris – and foyer activations:
Come along to our VIP red-carpet screenings with the creme de la creme of the world’s smartphone films all competing for over $50,000 in prizes and the chance to be crowned the SF3 2023 Best Film Award Winner, our SF3 Kids Best Film Winner and over 30 other awards. Tickets to all screenings include pre-show red-carpet networking events and the chance to rub shoulders with the stars of the smartphone filmmaking world and with our Sponsors, Judges and Ambassadors who are some of the world leaders in the film industry.

And, if you can’t be in Sydney, then you won’t miss out. SF3’s Online Festival is live from 18th November for 2 weeks and you can see all of our films plus a special section only for online including our SF3 Highly-Commended Screening plus all 11 of our Feature Film Finalists.

- From viral short films to cinema release: Behind the lens of director Jason van Genderen on Sunday 19th November at the Actors Centre Australia from 2-3:30pm.
2. Editing on your device with Luma Touch.Join us as we kick off SF3 2023 with this FREE online editing masterclass with the team at Luma Touch happening via Zoom on Thursday 16th November – 7pm AEST / 8am GMT / 12 midnight PST
This masterclass is designed for filmmakers of all ages and levels of editing experience. The Luma Team will show you the tips of editing on a device, all about their amazing app and will be available to answer all your questions.
Saturday 18th November, 2023 at 6:30pm is our SF3 Gala Finals Screening & Awards Ceremony. VIP party for all from 5pm. Come out to see the best in smartphone cinema from all across the world and have your photo taken on our photo-wall, get interviews by our video team, network and enjoy our pianist before seeing amazing films and being part of our awards ceremony.
Sunday 19th November, 2023 is our SF3 Kids Screening & Awards Ceremony at 11am and our SF3 Mini & Feature Film Screening at 4pm including a panel with our Feature Filmmaker, Levi Austin Morris. Our feature film is ‘Paralysis’ –

From viral short films to cinema release:
(Behind the lens of director Jason van Genderen.) Join SF3 Founder Angela Blake as she hosts an immersive fire-side chat with serial smartphone filmmaker Jason van Genderen. From his early experimental shorts that won Tropfest NY and Sundance London; through to his viral videos about his mum that became an acclaimed theatrically released documentary… Jason will share his biggest lessons and break throughs that can help any aspiring filmmaker find their voice.
Saturday 18th November to midnight December 2nd is our SF3 Online Festival with an extended program that includes our Gala Finals Films, SF3 Kids and Mini Films plus our 11 Feature Film Finalists and a special Highly-Commended Awards Screening. Catch it at

We are super proud to announce that we are the 2022 Australian Small Business Champion Awards Winner for the Best Performing Arts Company. SF3’s Angela picked up the award in Sydney at the Star Event Centre in front of a crowded room of more than 1000 people. It is a true honour and we thank everyone who has made SF3 what it is today.
What is SF3?
SF3 or the SmartFone Flick Fest is one of the world’s most prestigious film festivals for filmmakers of all ages and abilities. We are a world-wide festival open to anyone with a smartphone or tablet and a great idea for a short film.
