JOIN US FOR SOME SERIOUSLY COOL SMARTPHONE FILMMAKING, ANIMATION, STOP-MOTION & DOCUMENTARY MASTERCLASSES FOR ALL AGES PLUS A 24 HOUR FILM FESTIVAL FOR UNDER 18S THIS FEB 7TH-9TH IN DARLING HARBOUR, SYDNEY.

The Artistry 24-Hour Kids’ Smartphone Film Festival invites young creators aged 6-17 to craft their own short film in just 24 hours using only a smartphone or tablet. In line with the theme of our festival – The Artistry – this festival encourages kids to explore the presence of rich cultural diversity in Australia, including the Darling Harbour precinct as reflected in the people and other infrastructures like parks, restaurants, banks or any other environments. This festival is an opportunity to showcase their creativity through accessible and resourceful storytelling.

On Friday 7th February at 6pm, the inaugural The Artistry 24 Hour Film Festival opens and all under 18s are invited to come down to the Darling Harbour precinct and make a short film for our festival. Focused on the theme of the harbour, water, or foreshore, this exciting event encourages kids to explore their natural surroundings and showcase their creativity through accessible, resourceful storytelling. Entries close Saturday 8th at 6pm and throughout the day on Sunday 9th, the entries will play on the big screen at the festival, culminating in an awards presentation hosted by Actor/Author/Producer, Suzan Mutesi. 

 
The film must be shot in the 24 hours of the festival’s opening: from 6pm Friday 7th until 6pm Saturday 8th Feb and must be shot fully or partially in Darling Harbour.

Prizes are Best Film 6-11 Years old, Best Film 12-17 Years old, Most Creative Film 6-11 Years old, Most Creative Film 12-17 Years old and Best Performance.

Come down to The Artistry Festival in Darling Harbour over the weekend of 7th-9th February and join world leading smartphone filmmaking, animation and stop motion workshops for all ages plus all under 18s can join the 24 hour film festival and have their film screened on the big screen at Darling Harbour.
 
Sydney smartphone filmmaking, animation, stop-motion and documentary filmmaking masterclasses and walks for all ages. Join SF3 and Acclaimed Film Producer, Yolandi Franken as we team up for this special event and discover how to make professional films and animations using just your phone or tablet. The walks are brand new for us. Come and be guided around Darling Harbour as you shoot your film with our guidance and expertise. And it is also the very first time we are offering animation workshops and we are soo soo excited to have Atticus Gough teaching these classes – he was one of the animators on Battle Kitty on Netflix! And join our smartphone filmmaking and documentary masterclasses for pro tips and tricks and to learn everything from the experts here at SF3.

We are super proud to announce that we were the 2022 Australian Small Business Champion Awards Winner for the Best Performing Arts Company. SF3’s Angela picked up the award in Sydney at the Star Event Centre in front of a crowded room of more than 1000 people. It is a true honour and we thank everyone who has made SF3 what it is today.

SF3 was also a Best Performing Arts Champion Business Finalist in both 2023 & 2024.
